So, basically...

Currently a 3rd year BDes Animation student at DJCAD, just starting to widen my horizons and dabble in 3D and special effects. This blog is really just full of random pictures from my work and equally random ramblings about everything and anything.

END OF SEMESTER 1

So, finally handed in all my work from semester 1.

It's very average work, i'll admit. They were the kind of projects I could work on forever and never be happy. Maybe a bit dramatic, actually,  but yeah, I'd need a lot more time.

But it's done.

And now I'm free :]

Home on Wednesday I think, good times :]

Monday 6 December 2010

So it's Monday

... and there's been a lot of debate as to whether or not we are actually getting this extension. Apparently, our tutors should have confirmed it with us through an email or something, but they've been ignoring us aha. So we're going up today just to make sure they're not sitting waiting on completed submissions.

And... it's snowing again! Aha. Would be a very bad thing if I was still stuck (so glad I came up when I did!), but I'm not. And hopefully this snow will help to persuade our tutors in the direction of giving us the extension.

My flat mate is currently sitting behind me reading my essay, making me fear for my life. Better go hand it in actually, despite what he thinks haha.

Catch!

Saturday 4 December 2010

Back in Dundee!

And back to work!

(here's some life drawing for your troubles...)

So, still stuck, BUT...

...my mum's arranged for one of the couriers from her work to let me hitch a ride in his van the morn haha. Dundee here I come!

(provided I do not die)

Thursday 2 December 2010

So, we get an extension to the 11th.

Yay :]

Hopefully get up to Dundee soon, cause that's a decent extension. Just need the trains to come on now haha

The university just posted this...

Stuck : Day 5

So yeah, I'm definitely sick of people in Dundee complaining about the snow.
This right here is what I'm dealing with. Waist high, in a lot of places.

We got an email saying we'll find out today what's happening with the assessments. I know that the uni buildings are open again today, which makes me doubtful there'll be an extension. But again, my trains are off and the roads are closed.

Woe is me.

Wednesday 1 December 2010

So this is the snow, 3ft (at least) high. Don't be fooled by my cheeky smile, I am hating on this snow. Having to dig this trench will do that to you. No trains are going north of Edinburgh, still. Forever stuck, goodbye assessment.

So, still stuck

The trains running from Edinburgh to Dundee are all off, so I'm actually completely and utterly stuck. Stucker than I was, if that's possible. You see, there was always the possibility of digging a tunnel to Edinburgh and catching a glorious train, but now all hope is gone.

I emailed my tutor today, almost begging that there would be an extension. Her reply gave no hope, but she did joyfully mention that I should have lots of time to do observational drawing(!) Considering I can't quite leave my house for the mountain of snow outside, the only observing I've been doing is watching my cat compulsively clean himself, and watching my nightshift-working dad come home and fall asleep on the couch. And all I have here to draw with/on is pens from the bookies and a crappy note pad.

Silver lining is that I'm forced to work on my essay, which is slowly but surely coming along.

I'm dreading the moment they go to assess my work and find nothing but a bouncing ball in my folder haha. Oh well, I'll just have to be an exceptional student next semester.
